Still Seeking Committee Applications!

We are still seeking applications for the role of Treasurer-Secretary, Artist, Production Editor and Marketing Director. Any applications submitted will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled. To apply for any of these positions you can fill out this form to be considered. It is expected committee members attend our weekly meetings, and the average time commitment is estimed for each role below.

Role responsibilities in greater detail:

Treasurer-Secretary

  • Helps maintain the internal organisation and general administration
  • Manages journal funds and budget for publishing
  • Aims to be aware and find out about opportunities for funding
  • Prepares the agendas and the minutes of weekly committee meetings
  • Time estimate: 2 hours a week

Artist

  • Creates a captivating main cover illustration for each issue that suits the theme and content
  • Designs smaller, thematic illustrations to complement individual articles, to enhance visual appeal and engagement
  • Collaborates closely with the editing teams (section editing team and copy editing team) to understand the vision and requirements for each issue
  • Time estimate: 15 hours per semester for total production proccess

Production Editor

  • Creates visually appealing layouts (either in Canva, InDesign or alternative platform)
  • Collaborates with authors, editors and other team members to ensure the seamless integration of text and visuals
  • Oversees physical print process (ordering, communitcation, distribution)
  • Time estimate: 12 hours per semester for total production proccess

Marketing Director

  • Advertises journal updates, including open positions and proposal calls
  • Maintains an active and engaging presence on social media platforms
  • Responds promptly to enquiries on social media
  • Expands the reach and visibility of Plurality
  • Has either event planning experience or social media managing experience with an ability to create captivating Instagram posts
  • Time estimate: 1 hour a week
