Calling all Writers: Submit your Proposal for Agency

Leviathan operates on a regional format. Articles will be divided by continent or cultural region, with those that are international or comparative by nature being featured in an international division. Contributors are encouraged to think about what region their piece might be featured in, but should feel free to submit wide-ranging or comparative pieces. The regions are: Africa, Asia & Pacific, Europe & Russia, Latin America, Middle East & North Africa, North America, and International.

Structure: Submissions should include an 

  • article title
  • secondary title (a 10-15 word description of the article), 
  • introduction, body, conclusion, and references.

Length: Article submissions must contain a minimum of 1000 words and a maximum of 2,000 words for this issue. Longer analyses exceeding 2,000 words may be permitted by the Editor in Chief or the Deputy Editor in Chief on a case-by-case basis. Article proposals should be between 300 and 500 words.

HOW TO SUBMIT: Please submit all pitches for this issue by March 4 2022. 

  • Please visit leviathanjournal.org and use the submission form to upload your manuscript in a Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format with the title ‘SURNAME_THEME_REGION’. 
  • Please also include your name, year and course of study, and contact details at the end of your article – your contact details will not be disclosed and are for the purpose of editor feedback only.

After successful acceptance of your proposal, you will work personally with one of our Regional Editors who will guide you through the process of perfecting your article before it is copy edited, peer-reviewed, and finally published in our print and online journal, where your article will appear in Google Scholar with a citation.
